Pickup Points¶
This guide covers how to configure pickup points — physical collection locations where customers pick up their parcels. Pickup points are linked to your destination depots and scoped per country.
Prerequisites¶
- You are logged in as a courier owner (or a team member with
depotswrite permission) - Your courier application has been approved
- You have at least one active destination depot configured for the target country (see Depots)
- You can access the Config Hub from the courier home screen
Steps¶
Step 1: Navigate to Pickup Points¶
Open the Config Hub and select the Country Operations tab. Use the country dropdown at the top to select the relevant country, then tap Pickup Points.
Info
If no pickup points have been configured yet, you will see an empty state with the message "No pickup points yet" and a description explaining that pickup points are locations where customers collect their parcels, linked to your destination depots.
Step 2: Add a new pickup point¶
Tap the + icon in the app bar (or the "Add Pickup Point" button in the empty state). This opens the pickup point creation form.
Step 3: Select a parent depot¶
Choose the Parent Depot from the dropdown. This links the pickup point to one of your destination depots for the selected country.
Warning
If no destination depots exist for the current country, a warning message appears: "No destination depots found for this country. Add a depot first." You must configure at least one destination depot before creating a pickup point.
Step 4: Fill in the required fields¶
Complete the following fields:
| Field | Description | Required |
|---|---|---|
| Name | A recognizable name for the pickup point (e.g. "Manzini Town Centre") | Yes |
| Address | The street address or location description | Yes |
| Location (GPS) | Tap the map to place a pin at the exact coordinates | Yes |
| Parent Depot | The destination depot this pickup point is linked to | Yes |
Tip
The map displays a marker that you can drag to fine-tune the GPS position. The latitude and longitude coordinates are shown above the map once placed.
Step 5: Fill in optional fields¶
You may also configure:
| Field | Description | Required |
|---|---|---|
| Contact Name | The name of the person managing this pickup point | No |
| Contact Phone | A phone number for the pickup point contact | No |
| Photo | An image of the pickup point location (uploaded from gallery) | No |
| Operating Hours | Structured per-day open/close times for the pickup point | No |
Info
Operating hours are configured per day of the week. Each day can have an open time and close time, or be marked as closed. This information is displayed to customers and staff as a summary (e.g. "Mon-Fri 08:00-17:00, Sat 09:00-13:00").
Step 6: Save the pickup point¶
Tap the Create button at the bottom of the form. You are returned to the pickup points list, where the new point appears in the active section.
Result¶
After completing these steps:
- The pickup point is created and appears in the active list for the selected country
- A map preview shows the GPS location on each pickup point card
- Info chips display the linked depot name, operating hours summary, and contact details
- The pickup point becomes available during batch creation at its linked destination depot
- The pickup point appears as a node on the Operations Flow pipeline
- Active pickup points are visible to customers during checkout as collection options
Active/Inactive Toggle¶
Each pickup point can be toggled between active and inactive states:
- Active pickup points appear in the main list, are available for batch creation, and are visible to customers at checkout
- Inactive pickup points move to a separate "Inactive" section at the bottom of the list and are hidden from customers
To deactivate: tap the visibility-off icon on an active pickup point card. A confirmation dialog warns that customers will no longer see it during checkout.
To reactivate: tap the visibility icon on an inactive pickup point card. The point immediately returns to the active list.
Editing an existing pickup point¶
Tap the edit icon on any pickup point card to open the edit form. In edit mode, the parent depot is displayed as read-only (it cannot be changed after creation). All other fields can be updated.
Troubleshooting¶
| Issue | Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| "No destination depots found" warning | No active destination depots exist for the selected country | Navigate to Depots and add at least one destination depot for this country first. |
| Map pin won't place | Map interaction not registering | Ensure you tap directly on the map area. The pin can also be dragged after placement to adjust position. |
| Pickup point not visible to customers | The pickup point is marked inactive | Tap the visibility icon on the inactive pickup point card to reactivate it. |
| Pickup point appears under wrong country | Created with the wrong country selected | Delete and recreate the pickup point with the correct country selected in the country dropdown. |
| Cannot change parent depot | Parent depot is read-only in edit mode | The depot link is set at creation time. To change it, deactivate the current pickup point and create a new one linked to the correct depot. |
| Save fails with "Tap the map to set the pickup point location" | GPS coordinates were not set | Tap the map to place the location pin before saving. |
| "Please select a parent depot" error | No depot selected in the dropdown | Select a parent depot from the dropdown before saving. |
Note
Pickup points are scoped per country. Switching the country dropdown on the Country Operations tab filters the list to show only pickup points for that country. For information about configuring delivery coverage areas, see Delivery Zones.
